On August 18, 2026, Malvern Fire Company Station 4 MICU 4-2, an advanced life support unit staffed by an EMT and paramedic, was dispatched to the 300 block of Lancaster Avenue for a fall victim. While assessing the patient, the MICU crew noticed an odor of something burning and requested additional assistance from the fire company.

Engine 4 from Malvern Fire Company, Squad 5 from East Whiteland Department of Fire and Rescue Services, and Tower 3 from Paoli Fire Company responded to the scene. After an investigation, the source of the odor was found to be malfunctioning electrical equipment. The situation was resolved, and all units returned to service.

The patient was transported to a local hospital without incident.
