Fire & Rescue Services Information
The Malvern Fire Company provides fire and rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We operate three structural pieces of fire apparatus; a 2018 Spartan Engine , 75' quint (combination of a Ladder and Engine), a Pumper/Tanker. In addition we have two command vehicles and a Squad that carries manpower and tools. Fire services are provided by a combination of career and volunteer staffing. Regardless of career or volunteer, we pride ourselves on providing swift, effective and professional service. Our organization has over 80%of our members qualified to National Professional Fire Fighting Standards.
The Fire Company responds to about 360 Fire and Rescue calls each year. While we are fortunate to only respond to an average of 12-15 structure fires each year and only a handful of automobile accidents requiring extrication, the company remains busy responding to all types of other emergencies. These emergencies include things like Electrical Fires, Gas Leaks, Carbon Monoxide Incidents, Vehicle Accidents not requiring extrication, EMS Assists, Search Details, Car Fires, Dumpster Fires and many others.
In addition to our primary response area in Malvern Borough and portions of Willistown and East Goshen Townships, we regularly respond to help our neighboring companies from Radnor Township to Uwchlan Township. When we have incidents in our primary territory that require additional assistance, our neighboring companies return the favor and provide us with assistance.
When not on emergency calls, we spend a great deal of time training. We ensure that we keep our skills sharp all while following the latest science and discoveries as it relates to our industry. This is accomplished through in-house training each week as well as sending members to various local, state and national fire academies to complete formal courses of study.
In addition to training for and responding to emergency calls for help, the fire company is active in our community with fire prevention and fire education services. We often visit schools, office buildings and even residential homes to offer fire prevention education and fire safety training. If you are interested in receiving assistance from the Malvern Fire Company with fire prevention training, please contact the firehouse today!
