At 10:56 hrs Station 4 was dispatched along with Station 2 (Berwyn) and Station 3 (Paoli) to assist Station 5 (East Whiteland) with a Outbuilding Fire reported as a Shed in the unit block of Old Lancaster Road in East Whiteland Township.

4-20 arrived a few minutes after dispatch and reported a fire to the rear of the residence. Assistant 4 arrived a minute later and updated the report to a shed with fire spreading to the woods. Assistant 4 advised Engine 5-2 to take the driveway and the nearest hydrant location.

Engine 5-2 arrived on location, laid in and took the driveway, deploying two handlines. While deploying the hoselines the crews faced a fully involved shed along with 1/4 to 1/2 acre of woods. Captain 5C (Nafziger) set up the Old Lancaster Command while Assistant 4 (K.Vaughn) was assigned operations.

Engine 2-1 arrived seconds later and split their crews to assist with fire suppression of both the shed and the woods. Engine 3-5 arrived on location and supplied water to Engine 5-2 after reports of a hydrant malfunction. The Malvern units arrived along with 3-5 and assisted with fire suppression efforts.

Units operated on location until being cleared by Captain 5C (Nafziger)

Units: Assistant 4, Tac 4, Ladder 4, Engine 4-5, and 4 EMS

Mutual Aid: Engine 2-1, Engine 5-2, and Engine 3-5
